The hotel was located in a run down part of London, but that didn't bother us as we were looking for cheap accommodation in the dockland area of London. On arrival at the hotel there was a power cut so we couldn't check in immediately, however, we were made to feel very welcome and staff were very helpful. The room was clean, well equipped and spacious. One of the best budget hotels I have stayed in. The hotel was well placed for O2 arena, which was less than 15 minutes away by tube / train.

Top Tip
There is a bar and restaurant next to the hotel which is part of the hotel complex and the food was very reasonably priced and lovely. They also have a chinese restaurant and a cafe within the hotel, all of which were very reasonably priced.

Hotel clean and tidy, we were not advised that bed and breakfast consisted of a continental breakfast, and that a full english breakfast would cost more. When checking in ask for car park side of hotel as main road busy with trains and buses!£10 for 24 hours car park very good.

Just a few stops to the O2 Arena. Hotel is right by an LDR station.

The room was small but for one night no problems, spotlessly clean & all the staff very friendly & helpful. Good location right opposite Custom House station

Extremely convenient for ExCel, just over a footbridge with lifts available.Excellent for disabled guests. Food options in the hotel excellent, and all excellent standard. We ate in the Chinese Restaurant.

The Transport for London website www.tfl.co.uk gives detailed instructions on transport to Custom House Hotel ( in our case from Victoria Coach Station) The hotel receptionist was also very knowledgeable and gave us detailed instructions on which underground stations and Docklands Light Railway to use.A one day travelcard card is the best option and can be obtained from ticket machines on the stations.

I last stayed 4 years ago and the place has obviously had a revamp; very smart. Can recommend the chinese restaurant and 'pub' inside the hotel. It is only 2 minutes from the entrance to the Excel centre and opposite a DLR station.
