The London Bridge Hotel is housed in a former telephone exchange building, which dates from 1915 and has a redbrick façade enhanced by ornate stone carvings above the canopied entrance. Though fairly small, the lobby is handsomely appointed, with a marble floor, comfortable seating areas and an original fireplace. Given the historic nature of the building, the 135 guestrooms vary in size but are superbly maintained. They are decorated in a blend of green and brown tones which lends them a cosily autumnal ambience. In the en suite bathrooms, the white tiled walls contrast strikingly with the black granite sinks. The hotel offers a variety of dining options. Located on the lower ground floor, the Londinium Restaurant serves modern British cuisine in a contemporary yet welcoming setting, enhanced by red suede furnishings, rich brown walnut floors, soft lighting and crisp white table linens. Decorated in a colonial style, the award winning Georgetown restaurant brings the varied and exquisite dishes of the Malays, Mandarin Chinese and Tamil Indians under one roof - all regally presented with crystal cut glass and fine bone china. And with its own entrance in London Bridge Street, the stylish Borough Bar offers a simple yet delicious menu, served throughout the day, and a great range of drinks including draught beers.
